Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum plays a homespun brand of soulful Americana they call bootcut boogie, cosmic country, and roadhouse rock ‘n roll. Fronted by singer-songwriter David Glasebrook, the group evokes the swampy blues and greasy southern soul of Creedence Clearwater Revival, the backwoods beat of The Band, and the working-man poetics of The Grateful Dead.

But what do they sound like? Deep Ellum sounds like the lazy Mississippi slowly rollin' by on a southern summer afternoon; like the locusts singing at the close of a long day; like a stone-cold trucker barreling down the highway at 110 miles per hour; like a lonesome drifter wailing on his harmonica; like car wheels on a gravel road.
